Polyurethane Floor Coating

Polyurethane floor coating is a resin system that, thanks to its elasticity, bridges micro-cracks, absorbs impact and holds its colour under sunlight. It is more flexible than epoxy and takes thermal movement and hot water washdown in its stride.

We bring it in where epoxy struggles: food production, the cold chain, commercial kitchens and outdoor areas. On terraces and car park decks that need waterproofing, it delivers the coating and the membrane in one system — no separate membrane to lay.

Is polyurethane more expensive than epoxy?
The rate per square metre is usually higher. However, in areas demanding UV, thermal shock and flexibility performance, epoxy would need early replacement, so total cost of ownership favours polyurethane.
Which system suits a cold store?
Polyurethane systems are preferred in cold stores because of temperature cycling and thermal shock. Epoxy becomes brittle under these conditions and risks cracking.
Can waterproofing and floor finish be combined in one job?
Yes. Polyurethane systems act as both waterproofing and finished surface, removing the need for a separate membrane. Details and movement joints are resolved with reinforcing fleece.
